The third edition of the Middle East Sustainability Forum (MESF) is set to be held on January 28-29, 2025, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Bahrain. Under the theme "Moving Action and Investment for Climate Resilience and Energy," the forum will bring together over 400 regional and global leaders in business, sustainability, and climate action.

The event will take place under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Daina, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, with the support of the Supreme Council for the Environment.

A Platform for High-Level Dialogue
The forum will feature over 50 expert speakers from the MENA region, Europe, the UK, the US, Brazil, and beyond. Discussions will address key topics such as aligning business models with climate action, scaling climate finance, fostering innovation, and accelerating decarbonization. Insights from COP29 in Azerbaijan and its roadmap to COP30 in Brazil will also be discussed.

Mark Thomas, CEO of Bapco Energy Group, will deliver the inaugural keynote address. Senior leaders from organizations including ACWA Power, Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), Aramco Ventures, Bank ABC, BNP Paribas, Google, Gulf International Bank, HSBC, and Standard Chartered Bank will participate in various panels and discussions.

Women’s Leadership in Climate and Sustainability
On the evening of January 28, the forum will host a special session on “Women’s Leadership in Climate and Sustainability” in collaboration with the Supreme Council for Women. This session will spotlight the contributions of women leaders from across the MENA region in shaping the sustainability agenda.

Workshops for Practical Learning
The second day will focus on workshops presented by KPMG, Anthesis Group, and Environment Arabia, offering participants tools to enhance climate-related financial disclosures, develop sustainability strategies, and drive decarbonization efforts.

Strategic Partnerships and Support
The 2025 forum is supported by strategic partners National Bank of Bahrain and Standard Chartered Bank, along with forum partners such as Alba, Bapco Energy, Gulf Air, and Boston Consulting Group. Media partners include Bloomberg, BFT Media, and Sustainable Finance Daily.

Leela Danish, CEO of FinMark Communications, the forum’s founder and organizer, expressed enthusiasm for this year’s event:
"The Middle East Sustainability Forum continues to serve as a vital platform for fostering dialogue and building capacity to advance climate action in the MENA region. We anticipate two days of impactful discussions and collaborations that will drive the transition to a sustainable future."
