Bahrain’s Interior Minister Delivers Address on International Customs Day 2025

On the occasion of International Customs Day, observed annually on January 26, His Excellency Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, delivered a speech highlighting Bahrain's commitment to global partnerships and collective efforts in advancing customs policies and practices.
In his address, Shaikh Rashid emphasized that International Customs Day 2025 underscores Bahrain’s dedication to fostering international collaboration to achieve shared objectives. He noted that enhancing customs operations plays a pivotal role in supporting national economies and bolstering global trade and investment.
Under the theme “Commitment to Efficiency, Security, and Prosperity,” this year’s celebration focuses on showcasing achievements, strengthening professional values, and recognizing the exceptional contributions of customs personnel. Shaikh Rashid highlighted Bahrain's steadfast customs policies, rooted in robust principles and effective practices, which have solidified the Kingdom’s regional and international prominence. He attributed this success to the visionary guidance of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the diligent follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The Minister lauded the Customs Affairs Directorate and its workforce for their professionalism, adaptability, and alignment with both regional and global developments. He commended the integrated efforts of customs personnel and other security agencies within the Ministry of Interior, ensuring smooth operations at Bahrain's air, land, and sea entry points while maintaining seamless goods and passenger flow.
Shaikh Rashid also praised the Directorate’s strides in developing electronic systems and applications, which have significantly enhanced customs services and contributed to Bahrain's economic growth. He attributed this success to the Directorate’s skilled national workforce, whose expertise has positioned Bahrain as a leader in efficient and secure customs operations.
He further stressed the importance of investing in human capital and fostering knowledge transfer to empower future generations with advanced skills and tools, ensuring they are well-equipped to meet the evolving demands of customs work.
