India's vibrant cultural heritage, intertwined with its rapid strides in economic and technological development, continues to define its growing presence on the global stage.
On the eve of the 76th Republic Day of India, Reverend Biju John of Bahrain's Mar Thoma Church highlighted the theme 'Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas' (Golden India: Heritage and Development), celebrating the unique synergy of tradition and modernity that shapes the nation's identity.
India's diversity and inclusivity were praised as the cornerstones of its strength, enabling it to serve as a model for countries worldwide. "This blend of heritage and development makes India an attractive partner on the global stage," he remarked, emphasising India's global appeal.
Global Lessons
Reflecting on India's development journey, Reverend John underscored its potential to inspire nations like Bahrain. By balancing economic growth with social welfare and cultural preservation, India has created a model of inclusive progress. He noted that India's commitment to education, innovation, and entrepreneurship offers valuable insights for developing nations navigating their own growth challenges.
"India's democratic principles and ability to embrace diversity are a shining example for the world," he said, adding that such values can guide nations seeking sustainable progress.
Overseas Legacy
In a message to the Indian community in Bahrain, Reverend John extended warm greetings, encouraging expatriates to act as cultural ambassadors. "We are proud of your contributions to Bahraini society," he said. He urged the community to uphold India's values of democracy, diversity, and inclusivity while fostering cultural exchange between the two nations.
To safeguard India's legacy for future generations abroad, Reverend John called for initiatives like cultural centres, libraries, and educational programmes. He also stressed the role of technology in preserving India's rich heritage, suggesting its potential to connect the diaspora with their roots.
Shared Celebration
As India marks its Republic Day, Reverend John’s message was one of pride and hope. By staying rooted in tradition while embracing progress, Indians at home and abroad continue to embody the spirit of 'Swarnim Bharat' and its promise of a brighter future for all.
