ATU marks National Day

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) Chairman Shaikh Daij bin Salman Al Khalifa was the guest of honour during the Alba Trade Unions (ATU)’s celebration of Bahrain National Day, held yesterday.

Held under the patronage of Shaikh Daij, the event was attended by the Undersecretary of Ministry of Labour Sabah Al Dossary, Assistant Undersecretary for Labour Affairs Dr. Moh’d Al Ansari, Chairman of the General Federation of Bahrain Trade Union Sayed Salman Al Mahfood, members of the Company’s Executive Management, Directors and Managers. 

The celebration was also attended by other major companies’ union members and high officials from the Ministry of Labour. 

During the celebration, Alba’s Chairman officially inaugurated the new ATU headquarter at the company’s premises. Shaikh Daij said, “I extend my heartiest congratulations to the Leadership of Bahrain for the great strides and accomplishments made by the Kingdom over the last forty years. I am also happy to announce the official inauguration of the Alba Trade Union’s office inside Alba premises.” 

“We look forward to working with the Union and supporting initiatives and ideas that protect the interest of our employees, our company, our shareholders and the national economy,” he added. 

Al Dossary added, “It is such a great pleasure to join Alba in celebrating Bahrain’s National Day. We are glad to see the employees united, thanks to the initiatives and support of Alba’s Chairman of Board of Directors.”

Chairman of Alba Trade Union, Mohammed Ali Makki, stated, “We take this opportunity to congratulate Bahrain’s Leadership on the National Day and we sincerely thank Alba’s Chairman of Board of Directors and the Executive Management for their continuous support to the Union. Opening a new headquarter is a step forward to further ensure the welfare of Alba’s employees.”
