HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister chairs the weekly Cabinet Meeting: 27 January 2025

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today chaired the weekly Cabinet Meeting at Gudaibiya Palace.

The Cabinet affirmed the importance of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s visit to the French Republic, where HM the King met with His Excellency President Emmanuel Macron. The visit highlighted the enduring strength of Bahrain-France relations across economic, political and defence sectors. In this regard, the Cabinet underscored the strategic partnership and mutual commitment to enhance ties to meet shared aspirations.

The Cabinet praised Bahrain’s delegation, led by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Education Charitable Trust and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), for its impactful participation in the WEF 55th Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland. The Cabinet also commended the Kingdom’s participation in bilateral meetings, roundtable discussions, and high-level strategy sessions, showcasing Bahrain’s initiatives in economic diversification, sustainability, and innovation. In this regard, the Cabinet welcomed the signing of the ‘Bahrain Skills and Gender Parity Accelerator’ agreement between the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) and the World Economic Forum.


The Cabinet then discussed several memorandums during the meeting, approving the following:

1. A memorandum submitted by the Minister of Interior regarding the removal of certain entities and individuals from the list of terrorist entities.

2. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding granting the Italian Republic the right of sovereignty over the data of its citizens stored in cloud computing centres in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

3. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia on political consultations.

4. A memorandum submitted by the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications on the timeline for implementing the internal railway network and its integration into the GCC railway network.

5. A memorandum submitted by the Minister of Legal Affairs regarding the Kingdom of Bahrain’s legislative plan for 2025.

6. A memorandum submitted by the Minister of Industry and Commerce regarding the inclusion of the Italian Republic as a partner for the Kingdom’s sea-air freight services. The list includes 20 participating countries, whose companies may apply for accreditation as operators for these services.

7. A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on the government’s response to three proposals and a law submitted by the Council of Representatives.


The Cabinet then reviewed a memorandum submitted by the Minister of Cabinet Affairs regarding government performance developments within the “Sijilat”, “Tawasul” and “Binayat” platforms between January to December 2024, compared to the previous year. The platforms aim to enhance service quality and efficiency for citizens and support commercial and investment activities in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
