Five members of Bahrain’s House of Representatives, led by MP Mohammed Hussein Janahi, have submitted an urgent proposal to increase the cost of living allowance and introduce a one-time meat subsidy before the holy month of Ramadan. This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burdens faced by Bahraini families during Ramadan and Eid preparations.

The MPs behind the motion—Mohammed Hussein Janahi, Ahmed Abdul Wahid Qarata, Mohammed Yousef Al-Ma’ari, Najib Al-Kuwari, and Mohsen Al-Asboul—highlighted the rising cost of living as a pressing concern for citizens. They emphasized the importance of this support in maintaining the quality of life for Bahraini families, ensuring they can meet additional expenses during Ramadan without financial hardship.

The proposal reflects the state’s commitment to prioritizing citizens' welfare by addressing economic challenges and promoting financial stability, particularly for families struggling under current economic conditions.

The MPs urged swift approval of this proposal, noting its alignment with the public interest and its potential to provide much-needed reassurance and comfort to Bahraini households during a significant time of year.
