Italian Rhythms Comes Alive in Bahrain

The Cultural Hall in Bahrain came alive last night with the vibrant rhythms and melodies of Southern Italy as it hosted Breeze of Tarantella: A Journey to the South of Italy. The event showcased the rich dance and musical traditions of the Italian regions of Apulia, with influences from Campania, Calabria, and Basilicata.
The performance featured renowned Italian artists Sara Fiorina Colonna, Mariangela Recchia, Giuseppe Delle Donne, and Tommaso Massarelli, who captivated the audience with their authentic renditions of traditional folk music and dance. The event transported attendees through an immersive cultural experience, highlighting the deep-rooted artistic expressions of Southern Italy.
Italian Ambassador to Bahrain, Andrea Catalano, graced the occasion and delivered the opening remarks. He emphasized the enduring bilateral ties between Italy and Bahrain, noting the significance of cultural exchanges in strengthening international relations. The event was attended by members of the Italian community in Bahrain, as well as local enthusiasts of Italian heritage and arts.
The night’s performances featured a variety of traditional instruments, which played a pivotal role in preserving the region’s folk legacy.
