Bahrain’s ePassport Secures Record-Breaking Global Recognition

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has recognised Bahrain’s ePassport for securing the highest number of major international awards. The recognition was made during a meeting with His Excellency General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Minister of Interior, and His Excellency Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, the Ministry of Interior Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs, alongside a delegation from HID Global. The meeting included officials who collaborated with the Ministry of Interior in designing the award-winning ePassport.

During the meeting, HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister was presented with a trophy from HID Global in appreciation of Bahrain’s ePassport achievements on the global stage.

HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad underscored that investing in technology and digital transformation remains a strategic priority for the Kingdom, ensuring that government services meet the highest standards of efficiency and quality. He highlighted that such initiatives contribute to Bahrain’s comprehensive development, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

His Royal Highness emphasised that development, driven by innovation and creativity, is fundamental to enhancing services provided to citizens. This approach strengthens Bahrain’s position and competitiveness regionally and internationally.

HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to advancing projects related to digital transformation, lauding the dedication of Bahraini professionals in implementing strategic initiatives with high standards of quality.

He extended his appreciation to the Minister of Interior and the Nationality and Passports Affairs staff for their efforts in adopting cutting-edge technology to enhance service quality and reinforce Bahrain’s success in various domains.

For his part, HE General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa expressed gratitude for the continued support of His Royal Highness in elevating government services to meet the evolving needs of citizens, in line with Bahrain’s commitment to excellence.
