A recent report from the Ministry of Municipalities and Agriculture has revealed noticeable advancements in the processing speed of building licenses, with approximately 70% of transactions completed within just two days.
The statistics indicate that 427 transactions were finalised in a single day, accounting for 30% of total transactions, while 639 were completed within two working days, representing 40% of the total.
This rapid processing reflects the efficiency of the Benayat system, which issued a total of 1,533 new building licenses automatically in the past year.
Najma Haji, Head of the Building License Control Department at the Ministry, presented these figures during a meeting of the Capital Municipality Council.
She highlighted that specialised projects, recreational area developments, and investment buildings comprised over a quarter of the new building licenses, making up 26.7% of the total.
Haji noted that the ministry’s ability to issue 1,533 building licenses across all governorates within an average processing time of just two working days is an important achievement.
