Bahrain’s Youth Empowerment Takes Center Stage in UNDP Partnership

Minister of Youth Affairs, Rawan bint Najib Tawfiqi, met with Asma Shalabi, the newly appointed Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Bahrain, to discuss ongoing collaboration efforts aimed at empowering youth in the Kingdom.

During the meeting, Minister Tawfiqi highlighted the successful partnership between the Ministry of Youth Affairs and the UNDP, which has led to tangible, positive outcomes for Bahraini youth. This collaboration has resulted in the launch of several joint programs and initiatives designed to empower youth, enhance their societal roles, and provide them with specialized training opportunities. These efforts have contributed to enhancing leadership skills, building capacities, and enabling youth to stay ahead of evolving trends in various fields.

Minister Tawfiqi also outlined the Ministry’s continued efforts to enhance youth skills across different sectors. She emphasized the importance of strengthening the partnership with the UNDP, ensuring the continuation of joint programs that help Bahraini youth engage in the Kingdom’s development processes across diverse sectors.

In response, Asma Shalabi commended the Ministry’s efforts in providing opportunities for youth to contribute to Bahrain’s sustainable future. She reiterated the UNDP's commitment to furthering cooperation with the Ministry of Youth Affairs, developing new initiatives aimed at empowering youth and increasing their participation in development issues.
