Bahrain Grand Quran Competition Begins Its 29th Edition

The preliminary rounds of the 29th Bahrain Grand Quran Competition commenced today, Saturday, at the Al-Fateh Islamic Center. The prestigious event is held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain, with support and organization from the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs, and Endowments, in collaboration with the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs.
Abdullah Al-Omari, Director of the Quranic Affairs Department at the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs, and Endowments, stated that a total of 4,242 participants, both male and female, have registered across various categories of the competition. He further noted that 703 contestants have successfully advanced to the preliminary round, emphasizing that the competition consists of multiple stages, beginning with internal eliminations and culminating in the final stage.
The Bahrain Grand Quran Competition includes seven categories for both male and female participants across different segments. These categories are the Hifz (Memorization) Competition, the "Bayan" Competition for school students, the "Ajran" Competition for individuals with mild intellectual disabilities, the "Ghofran" Competition for inmates of the Correction and Rehabilitation Center, the "Ridwan" Competition open to the general public, the "Salman Al-Farsi" Competition for non-Arabic speakers, and the Recitation and Performance Competition.
Additionally, the competition features several incentive awards, including the award for the oldest participant, the youngest participant, the "Mizmar Dawood" award for exceptional recitation, the Best Participating Quranic Center award, the "Family in the Shade of the Quran" award, and the Best Local Quranic Competition award.
