"Specialised marketing teams have been established for each economic sector to promote the benefits of favouring Bahraini nationals for such roles, aiming to fill vacancies within the online job portal."
— H.E. YOUSEF BIN ABDULHUSSAIN KHALAF, ACTING MINISTER OF LABOUR

A new initiative launched by the Ministry of Labour, in collaboration with the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), prioritises 1,051 job roles for Bahraini citizens.

This was announced by the Acting Minister of Labour, His Excellency Yousef bin Abdulhussain Khalaf.

Responding to a parliamentary question, the minister explained that specialised marketing teams have been established for each economic sector to promote the benefits of favouring Bahraini nationals for such roles.

“These teams review all vacancies to ensure that the company is suitable and attractive to Bahraini applicants, the job itself is appealing, and the offered salary meets minimum wage requirements based on qualifications and working hours,” he stated.

Online System

Employers select candidates through an online system. "The ministry then organises group interviews at its facilities, utilising dedicated offices, interview rooms, and a specialised team. Candidates are notified of interview times via SMS and online account notifications," he added.

Financial Assistance

Regarding unemployment benefits, the Minister confirmed that the unemployment insurance system provides benefits according to the Unemployment Insurance Law’s stipulations.

The aim is to offer financial assistance during unemployment periods, encouraging job seekers to actively search for work and contribute to the economy rather than relying on long-term financial support.

Meanwhile, Khalaf outlined minimum salary requirements:

  • BD500 for university graduates
  • BD430 for diploma holders
  • BD350 for high school graduates or below

“The law includes controls and standards to ensure the seriousness of job seekers and the fulfillment of the law’s objectives. All financial aid worldwide requires adherence to eligibility criteria and controls,” he stressed.
