The Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs, and Endowments is testing a remote visual notarisation system in collaboration with the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA).
This was announced by the Justice Minister, His Excellency Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawda.
Currently, 127 private notaries are licensed for Arabic notarisation, and 13 for English notarisation.
The initiative aligns with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030, expanding the private sector’s role while the ministry oversees licensed private notaries.
Al Maawda said that private notaries will receive training from the Judicial and Legal Studies Institute, with access requiring electronic key authentication.
He urged users to register for government notifications via bahrain.bh, as registered details will be used for service access.
