His Majesty King Hamad Commends Energy Sector Achievements in Bahrain

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the esteemed King of Bahrain, welcomed His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of Bapco Energies, along with the heads of companies under the Bapco Energies umbrella at Al-Sakhir Palace today. The meeting was attended by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

During the meeting, His Majesty praised the confident leadership of Sheikh Nasser in steering Bahrain’s energy sector, particularly the significant progress in its ongoing transformation. He expressed great satisfaction with the sector's notable achievements over the past year, highlighting advancements in operational efficiency, sustainability, and safety.

His Majesty specifically acknowledged the inauguration of the strategic modernization project undertaken by Bapco Refining. This milestone will significantly enhance the refinery’s production capacity and competitiveness in the oil and refining industry, aligning with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.

Furthermore, His Majesty commended the global presence and competitiveness of Bapco Energies and its subsidiaries, as well as their ability to attract investors and forge influential partnerships. He also emphasized the importance of empowering Bahraini youth, recognizing the sector’s efforts in recruitment, training, and development. His Majesty reaffirmed his confidence in Bahraini talent, acknowledging their capability to excel in this evolving field.

During the meeting, Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa presented a comprehensive report detailing the key achievements of Bapco Energies and its subsidiaries in the past year. He highlighted the success of the historic Bapco Refining modernization project, which was officially inaugurated at the end of 2024. He also noted the remarkable progress of the Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard Company (ASRY), which has enhanced its operations and strengthened global partnerships, leading to several strategic agreements.
