Khaleeji invites public to the lagoon

Khaleeji Commercial Bank (KHCB), one of the leading Islamic retail banks in the Kingdom of Bahrain, has invited the public to join the bank’s National Day celebrations at the Lagoon on Amwaj Islands.

The three-day celebratory event is being held from today till Friday and will include a number of fun activities,  which are open to the public.

On Bahrain National Day today, visitors can enjoy watching the traditional folklore performance, the Arda, a cultural dance accompanied by music performed at celebratory occasions.

Speaking on this occasion, Khalil Al Meer, Chief Executive Officer of KHCB, said:  “On behalf of Khaleeji Commercial Bank, I take this opportunity to extend my best wishes to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Prime Minister HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the government and the people of Bahrain on the occasion of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s National Day. “It gives us great pleasure to be celebrating this magnificent occasion with all our visitors at the Lagoon on Amwaj Islands. We extend an open invitation to all members of the public to join us at our mobile KHCB branch at the Lagoon and participate in our three-day celebratory event starting from today. Our event is a family-oriented celebration with lots of activities, including competitions, games and giveaway prizes. We look forward to welcoming our guests,” Al Meer added.

Throughout the three-day celebrations, KHCB will be treating the children to “The Little Banker” experience, where a KHCB mini-bank has been set up to enable children to enjoy role play by pretending to take up various staff positions within the bank to have a first-hand experience of working within the Islamic banking industry.

Another highlight of KHCB’s celebrations is the Creative Youth Bazaar, where youths aged between 16 and 22 years are invited to reserve stalls free of charge to sell their products. Participation in the bazaar is open to those who wish to display and sell products related to photography, fashion, homemade sweets and cakes, technology and artworks.

All proceeds from the sales of those goods will go to the stall-holders as a means to encourage the youth to maintain their productivity. Those wishing to reserve a stall can contact KHCB on 17 505 451 or 17 505 423.
