More than 135 former students of the Indian School, Bahrain (ISB) batch of 1999 gathered for a grand reunion, rekindling old friendships and celebrating 25 years since their graduation. The event, meticulously planned and executed, brought together alumni from across the globe for a day filled with nostalgia and camaraderie.
The reunion commenced with a morning gathering at Mysore Café in Oasis Mall, Juffair, where classmates reconnected over breakfast. This was followed by an emotional visit to their alma mater, walking through familiar corridors and reliving cherished school memories. The celebrations culminated in a lively 90s-themed gala at The Lagoona Beach Resort, where attendees reminisced about the past while creating new memories.
“This extraordinary event was a testament to the dedication and passion of our organizing team,” said Safiya Khan, a Kuwait-based alumna and the driving force behind numerous reunions over the past decade. “Coordinating members from different countries and time zones was a challenge, but our team’s seamless collaboration made this event truly special. Despite initial difficulties in reaching our Bahrain-based batchmates, we were overjoyed when they joined us in making this a day to remember.”
For many attendees, the reunion was an opportunity to travel back in time and relive their school days. “Returning to Bahrain from the U.S. for our 25th reunion was surreal. Reconnecting with classmates, revisiting Manama Souq and our old neighborhoods, and stepping back into our school made us feel 16 again,” said Ahmad Jassim, who traveled from Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
Others echoed similar sentiments, appreciating the efforts made to bring everyone together. “What a wonderful ISB reunion after 25 years! Reminiscing about the past and strengthening friendships that have withstood time and distance made my journey from Australia completely worthwhile,” said Veena D’Souza.
Dr. Asra Anjum, who traveled from Manchester, UK, shared her joy in attending the reunion. “Walking into our school reunion felt like stepping out of a time machine—a beautiful fusion of past and present. No matter how far we go in life, some connections remain timeless.”
The gathering not only rekindled bonds but also reinforced the strong sense of community among ISB alumni. As the event concluded, the attendees departed with hearts full of gratitude and a renewed hope of meeting again in the years to come.
