‘Bahraini Asly 2’ inspires true national spirit

There are many forms of celebrating a National Day, but the most memorable would be a song that would ring in your ears, reminding us of our pride to be a Bahraini, our traditions and the diversity that exists among us.

Three young Bahrainis and two production units collaborated and joined together to make a music video that would put a blast to the end of the year for the National Day celebrations with a trendy rap music video that kicked off successfully once it was launched in the social media last week. Deena Al Saweer from Deena Productions, Hamad Al Fardan aka The Mystro alongside Abdulrahman Sahaf aka Wrista from The Mystro Productions, together made a music video called ‘Bahraini Asly 2’. Hamad Al Fardan aka The Mystro started writing hip-hop and rap lyrics when he was 16 and as the founder of Mystro Productions, he established it two years ago with the aim of mixing Arabic hip-hop with western music.

Speaking to DT News, Hamad Al Fardan aka The Mystro said:  “We chose the phrase Bahraini Asly to show the world what it is really like to be a Bahraini and how we live to show our love to our country with its simplicity. Bahraini Asly 2 came as a success followed by Bahraini Asly 1, so we were more than glad to make it bigger.”

Deena Al Saweer said: “I wanted this project to be one of my best because it’s my first National Day back in Bahrain since the creation of Deena Productions.

“I took the project forward  because the song had a similar taste and feel as my videos did. Hip-hop trendy has a beautiful meaning. I want to show the world how awesome local talent can really be.”

Speaking to Abdulrahman Sahaf aka Wrista, he expressed that, "The music video reflects my Bahraini identity as it shows my true character as a Bahraini. It shows me fitting in to this hip hop scene with my own flavor. The language used in my verses are generally English with some Arabic touches, this reflects my life on a day to day basis. The use of both languages also shows that I constantly converge and diverge on a day to day basis in order to fit into different circumstances."
