Witnesses to be heard in murder case on Jan. 11

Prosecution witnesses will be heard on January 11 in the trial of a 31-year-old Bahraini woman accused of killing her boyfriend. She is standing trial at High Criminal Court, facing murder charges after her 57-year-old boyfriend was found dead in his Riffa apartment.

According to court files, the woman killed the Bahraini man following a brawl in his apartment in March this year.

It reportedly occurred when he prevented her to go out without having sex. It’s said that the woman began sleeping with the man in his Riffa apartment after speaking with him on the phone for a long time.

The woman claimed during interrogations that their relationship grew after he had promised her to find a new job opportunity.

“We would drink beer every time we meet in his apartment. We were also going to coffee shops, and whenever we return to his apartment we have had sex,” the defendant said.  “I was insisting him to marry me, but he was evading. On the day of the incident, I didn’t drink beer, but he got drunk. He told me to sleep with him, but I wanted to leave.”

The woman is said to have broke the victim’s neck by spinning it with her hands.

Her crime came to light when she revealed it to another man, and the latter filed a complaint against her.
