His Majesty King Hamad Receives Grand Imam of Al-Azhar at Al-Sakhir Palace

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received today at Al-Sakhir Palace His Eminence the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Shaikh Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, President of the Muslim Council of Elders, who is visiting the Kingdom to participate in the "Islamic Dialogue" conference. The conference, held under the patronage of HM the King, carries the theme "One Nation, One Destiny."

During the meeting, His Majesty the King welcomed His Eminence and commended his participation in this significant Islamic event. He wished success to all participants in achieving the conference’s objectives, which aim to serve the issues of the Muslim nation and promote solidarity, cohesion, and cooperation in addressing contemporary challenges.

His Majesty lauded the efforts of the Grand Imam in fostering the principles of tolerance, coexistence, and dialogue among different religious and cultural groups. He highlighted the esteemed role of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in spreading the true values of Islam, emphasizing moderation, tolerance, and love.

Reaffirming Bahrain’s commitment to spreading and upholding the values of Islam, His Majesty underscored the Kingdom’s dedication to tolerance, coexistence, love, peace, mutual respect, and the strengthening of human brotherhood.

In response, His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb expressed his sincere gratitude to His Majesty for hosting the "Islamic-Islamic Dialogue" conference. He also praised His Majesty’s continuous efforts in serving Islam, supporting Arab and Islamic causes, and promoting global peace, coexistence, and cooperation among diverse peoples and cultures.

The conference serves as a platform for fostering deeper understanding and unity within the Islamic world, reinforcing Bahrain’s role as a hub for dialogue and harmony.
