Bapco Energies Celebrates Bahrain Sports Day

Bapco Energies, the integrated company leading the energy transition in the Kingdom of Bahrain, celebrated Bahrain Sports Day in alignment with the directives of the Cabinet to dedicate half a working day on Thursday 20 February 2025 to a diverse range of sports and recreational activities. The event, held in Awali, witness the participation of executives and employees across the Group, reflecting Bapco Energies’ strategic commitment to supporting health and sports initiatives, fostering employee well-being, and promoting an active lifestyle.
Under the theme “Stay Active”, the event commenced with a group walk and warm-up session, followed by various sports and fitness activities. The event also featured a special participation by the Bahrain Scouts and Guides Fellowship from the Ministry of Education.
Mark Thomas, Group Chief Executive Officer of Bapco Energies, commended the support and initiatives of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, as well as the continuous efforts of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee. He praised their commitment towards the success of Bahrain Sports Day as an annual event dedicated to fostering a culture of fitness and well-being among citizens and residents of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Thomas stated, “Bahrain Sports Day presents a valuable opportunity for our employees to engage in activities that enhance both physical and mental health. It also strengthens team spirit by bringing together leadership and employees at all levels, aligning with our corporate values of creating a healthy and dynamic work environment.”
He added, “We remain dedicated to aligning our operations and strategies with corporate social responsibility initiatives. Through the active participation of our employees as volunteers, we continue to support national programs that promote public health awareness and encourage youth to channel their energy towards productive and sustainable endeavors.”
