An extra lane is planned for Shaikh Hamad Bridge, along with a new turning lane from Al Fateh Highway, as part of a roadworks push in Manama.
The Ministry of Works has detailed a series of projects aimed at improving traffic flow and road links, with the Minister, His Excellency Ibrahim Al Hawaj, confirming in a written reply to Parliament that designs are being finalized for upgrades to Al Fateh Highway, Shaikh Hamad Bridge, and several roads in the capital.
“The ministry is pressing on with its task of strengthening Bahrain’s roads to match urban growth and rising use,” he said. “We are carrying out service projects across the kingdom in line with funding and needs.”
