The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) welcomed a delegation of staff members from the US House of Representatives and Senate at the Expatriate Workers’ Protection Center. The delegation met with several LMRA officials in the presence of representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the meeting, LMRA officials highlighted Bahrain’s efforts in developing the labour market and enhancing procedures to ensure the highest levels of fairness and stability in the work environment.

They also discussed the kingdom’s initiatives in combating human trafficking. The delegation was briefed on the center’s role in providing preventive, legal, and advisory services, as well as shelter for victims and potential victims of human trafficking. The delegation also received an overview of the Regional Center for Training and Capacity Building to Combat Human Trafficking.

The center serves as a hub for certified trainers, frontline practitioners, and workers from various sectors, equipping them with the necessary skills to identify and effectively support victims or potential victims of human trafficking.
