Bahrain Reaffirms Commitment to Tourism Investment on Arab Tourism Day

The Kingdom of Bahrain remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting tourism investment as a key pillar for sustainable development, in line with this year's Arab Tourism Day theme, "Investment and Tourism," stated Her Excellency Fatima bint Jaafar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism.

In a statement marking Arab Tourism Day, observed annually on February 25, Minister Al Sairafi highlighted the vital role of the tourism sector in driving economic growth by contributing to the national GDP and creating both direct and indirect employment opportunities. She emphasized that tourism is a fundamental industry supporting economic development across Arab nations, necessitating stronger collaboration to achieve sustainable progress.

She reaffirmed Bahrain’s dedication to attracting tourism investments and enhancing the sector's growth environment in accordance with the kingdom’s Tourism Strategy 2022-2026. She also underscored Bahrain’s advanced tourism infrastructure and investor-friendly climate, backed by progressive laws and regulations that encourage and safeguard investments.

Minister Al Sairafi noted that tourism investment not only boosts the economy but also fosters cultural exchange by showcasing Bahrain’s rich heritage and strengthening national identity. Furthermore, it plays a crucial role in diversifying national income sources, ensuring long-term economic stability. She stressed the importance of continuously developing tourism as a dynamic economic driver that benefits multiple sectors and generates new job opportunities.

Highlighting Bahrain’s ongoing collaboration with regional and international tourism organizations, she noted that such partnerships enhance Bahrain’s global tourism profile while showcasing its historical, cultural, and architectural treasures.

Minister Al Sairafi also emphasized the need for stronger Arab cooperation in tourism and investment, asserting that collective efforts among Arab nations can attract both regional and international capital, boosting the sector’s global competitiveness and positioning the region as a leading tourism destination.

She called for the development of effective partnerships and strategies to enrich visitor experiences and improve tourism services across the Arab world. She also underscored the necessity of coordinated efforts among Arab Tourism Organization member states to achieve tangible advancements in tourism, further solidifying the region’s appeal on the international stage.
