Bahrain International Circuit Launches F1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2025

Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), renowned as ‘The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East,’ officially launched the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2025, an event set to coincide with Formula 1’s 75th-anniversary celebrations.

The prestigious race weekend is scheduled to take place from April 11 to 13, marking the fourth round of the 2025 FIA Formula 1 World Championship. The announcement was made at a grand press conference at BIC in Sakhir, attended by F1 superstar Oscar Piastri, representing reigning Constructors’ World Champions McLaren, alongside BIC Chief Executive Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa, Gulf Air Chairman Khaled Hussain Taqi, Gulf Air Chief Customer Experience Officer Hanadi Al Aali, and renowned F1 presenter Laura Winter.

Celebrating 75 Years of Formula 1 and Gulf Air

This year’s race also serves as a dual celebration, marking the 75th anniversaries of both Formula 1 and Gulf Air, Bahrain’s national carrier and grand prix title sponsor. The event will take place under the slogan “The Desert Never Sleeps”, a reflection of Bahrain’s vibrant nightlife and the unique atmosphere of the thrilling 57-lap night race.

Fans can look forward to an electrifying weekend filled with high-speed racing action, featuring Formula 1 and its support series, alongside a variety of entertainment options for all ages.

F1 Aramco Pre-Season Testing 2025 at BIC

Ahead of the main event, BIC will host the F1 Aramco Pre-Season Testing 2025 from February 26 to 28. All ten F1 teams and their star drivers have already arrived in Bahrain to fine-tune their cars ahead of the upcoming season. With significant driver lineup changes, fans can expect to see seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton with FerrariCarlos Sainz at WilliamsEsteban Ocon with Haas, and Nico Hulkenberg at Kick Sauber, along with six rookies making their full-time F1 debuts.

Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa commented, “The F1 75 Live launch showcased the immense enthusiasm for the sport, and we are experiencing that same excitement in Bahrain. The 2025 race weekend will also feature FIA Formula 2FIA Formula 3, and the Porsche Carrera Cup Middle East (PCCME), showcasing the next generation of racing talent. Off the track, fans can enjoy an exciting entertainment lineup, headlined by the globally acclaimed Circus Extreme, a Ferris wheel, a Kids Race Festival, and interactive performances by acrobats, mimes, and musicians.

Charity Auction for a Cause

In collaboration with F1 teams and Gulf Air, BIC has launched a charity auction benefiting the Royal Humanitarian Foundation. The auction, running until race day on April 13, features exclusive F1 memorabilia, including signed items from Lewis Hamilton, George Russell, and Valtteri Bottas, as well as unique pieces from Red Bull, McLaren, and Ferrari.
