Servicemen’s sacrifices recalled with pride, says the Speaker

The Council of Representatives has expressed deep pride in the military and security servicemen who sacrificed their lives while serving the nation, stressing that their patriotism, courage and heroism will be recorded in the Kingdom’s history with golden letters.

Speaking on behalf of the Council, Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al Mulla said that the Bahraini people would never forget people who lost their lives for the sake of the homeland while defending the security and stability of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the dignity and rights of the Arab Nation against foreign interference and terrorist acts.

Al-Mulla extended utmost thanks and gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for declaring December 17 as an annual Commemoration Day, noting that observing that day during the celebration of the National and Accession Days reflected the Kingdom’s keenness on paying tribute to persons of redemption, sacrifice and patriotism.

The Speaker affirmed the Council’s full confidence in the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), under the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, praising the BDF’s development and modernisation plans, as well as its brave servicemen’s dedication in serving the nation and defending its landmark achievements, under the leadership of HM King Hamad, the Supreme Commander.

Al-Mulla also expressed the Council’s appreciation of the security authorities, led by Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa and the affiliates of the National Guard, led by its Commander Lieutenant-General Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa.

He prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the souls of those who sacrificed their lives.
