Bahrain braces for cold wave as temperatures drop to 4 degrees

Bahrain is currently experiencing unusually cold weather, with medium to strong winds and an apparent temperature dropping to just 4 degrees Celsius.

Most areas have reported actual temperatures ranging between 12 and 14 degrees, marking a significant drop not seen in recent times.

According to official data from the Meteorology Department of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, along with global weather model forecasts, the cold wave is expected to reach its peak at dawn today.

Rising dust

The weather will remain very cold throughout the day, with rising dust in some areas and a chance of scattered rain at night.

The minimum temperature will be 10 degrees, with a maximum of 16 degrees. Winds will be northwesterly, reaching speeds of up to 27 knots, and wave heights are expected to range from two to three feet along the coast, and four to seven feet at sea.

Wind gusts

The highest wind gusts were recorded yesterday at King Fahd Causeway Station, where 39 knots were noted, followed by Bahrain International Airport at 37 knots, Rashid Equestrian Club at 36 knots, and several other locations around the Kingdom.
