Bahrain Delegation Meets European Parliament Representative to Strengthen Parliamentary Ties

A Bahraini parliamentary delegation met with Reinhold Lopatka, Head of the Delegation for Relations with the Arab Peninsula at the European Parliament, on the sidelines of the GCC-European Parliamentary Committee meeting held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The discussions focused on enhancing legislative cooperation and strengthening Bahrain-European parliamentary relations.
The Bahraini delegation included Ahmed Sabah Al Salloom, Chairman of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee at the Council of Representatives, and Sabeeka Khalifa Al Fadhel, Member of the Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee at the Shura Council. The officials commended the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in fostering international parliamentary partnerships and promoting legislative collaboration through knowledge exchange and shared expertise.
During the meeting, Al Salloom and Al Fadhel emphasized the significance of reinforcing Bahrain-European Parliament relations, aiming to deepen parliamentary dialogue and address matters of mutual interest. They highlighted the necessity of upholding national sovereignty and fostering effective communication to advance legislative, economic, and developmental cooperation. Additionally, they underscored the critical role of parliaments in promoting international understanding and stability through dialogue and strategic alliances.
Reaffirming Bahrain’s commitment to parliamentary cooperation, Al Salloom and Al Fadhel aligned their discussions with His Majesty the King’s vision of building robust international partnerships that support both national interests and global stability.
For his part, Lopatka lauded the strong collaboration between Bahrain and the European Parliament. He expressed his eagerness to further enhance this partnership through continuous knowledge exchange and joint coordination on regional and international affairs, ultimately contributing to sustainable development and regional stability.
