BACA, RCO mark Commemoration Day

Children from the Royal Charity Organisation (RCO) yesterday planted 100 jasmine seedlings in Arts Centre garden as part of the National Day celebrations.

Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) held the event to mark the Commemoration Day, which was set by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on December 17 each year to honour the sacrifices of the Bahraini citizens and the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF)’s efforts in protecting the Kingdom’s achievements.

BACA affirmed the importance of using national occasions to promote the local cultural identity and highlight the Kingdom’s humanitarian history.

The participation of RCO’s children represented a remarkable gesture that affirmed the role of the coming generations in forming the Kingdom of Bahrain’s bright future.

BACA has given its calendar of events for the National Day celebrations until December 23, which will include Our Language Unites Our Culture (December 18), Draw of Cultural Tourism Passport Winners (December 18), Mohammed bin Faris and Layali Al Nagham Musical Group for Arab-Andalusian Music – Morocco (December 18), Little India In Bahrain (December 19), Al Hidaya Al Khalifia School Fundraiser (December 20), Magnificent Maharajah Splendor of Indian Royal Costumes (December 21- April 15), Your Destination Bahrain (December 22), Bahrain Police Music Band (December 23) and Manama Post Office Opening (History and Documentation) (December 23).
