Thousands of WhatsApp users worldwide have reported experiencing outages on the popular messaging platform, leaving them unable to send or receive messages.
According to Down Detector, the issues began this evening and have impacted users across various regions. Many took to social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter) to confirm the outage and check if others were facing similar problems.
The cause of the disruption remains unclear, and WhatsApp’s parent company, Meta, has yet to release an official statement regarding the outage. Users have expressed frustration over the disruption, with businesses and personal conversations being affected.
This is not the first time WhatsApp has experienced such an outage. The platform, which boasts over two billion users, has faced similar technical difficulties in the past, sometimes due to server issues or internal maintenance.
Users are advised to keep an eye on official WhatsApp and Meta channels for updates on the issue. In the meantime, alternative messaging platforms like Telegram and Signal remain available for communication.
