Bahrain’s Survey and Land Registration Bureau (SLRB) has introduced an Electronic Property Ownership Statement for real estate registration requests, replacing the need for an original title deed in certain government and banking transactions.
The initiative is designed to speed up ownership verification processes while maintaining legal safeguards.
According to the SLRB, the statement functions as an official but temporary document that cannot be used for ownership transfers.
It is issued immediately upon payment of the required fees, with clients receiving a text message containing a download link.
A QR code embedded in the statement allows for real-time tracking of the title deed issuance process.
The Bureau stated that the service aligns with World Bank recommendations for the real estate sector and is expected to improve efficiency and transparency in property transactions.
Over 10,000 clients have used the system since its trial launch in September 2024.
The SLRB confirmed that the introduction of the e-statement follows an in-depth study of client needs, incorporating feedback from surveys and comments received.
It reaffirmed its commitment to continuously improving and streamlining real estate registration procedures to enhance service quality across the sector.
