The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) has intensified its efforts to regulate the labour market, conducting 1,769 inspection campaigns and visits from February 23 to March 1. These operations resulted in the detention of 22 violating and irregular workers, while 87 individuals were deported due to violations of labour and residency regulations.

The LMRA reported that the inspection visits and campaigns identified numerous breaches of Bahrain’s labour and residency laws. Legal measures were promptly taken against all observed violations.

During the week-long operation, authorities conducted 1,755 inspection visits to various commercial establishments across all governorates. Additionally, 14 joint inspection campaigns were conducted, including seven in the Capital Governorate, two in the Muharraq Governorate, one in the Northern Governorate, and four in the Southern Governorate.

These campaigns were conducted with multiple government entities, including the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), respective Police Directorates, the Coast Guard Headquarters, and Community Police Services. Other key participants included the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Supreme Council for Environment, and the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, represented by the Maritime Control Department and the Marine Fishing Ports Directorate.

The LMRA reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with government agencies to intensify inspection campaigns and address violations that could impact the stability and competitiveness of the labour market. The authority emphasized that such actions are crucial in safeguarding Bahrain’s economic and social security.

The LMRA has urged the public to support the government’s efforts in combating illegal labour practices. Violations can be reported through the electronic form available on the LMRA website (www.lmra.gov.bh), via the call center at 17506055, or through the government’s Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul).
