His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, current President of the Arab Summit, alongside His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, chaired the extraordinary session of the Arab League Council at the summit level—the "Palestine Summit"—held today in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital. The summit was attended by Their Majesties, Excellencies, and Highnesses, the Kings, Emirs, and Presidents of Arab states.
During the summit, His Majesty King Hamad delivered a keynote speech, in which he extended his greetings to all leaders on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, praying for unity, peace, and prosperity for the Arab and Islamic nations.
His Majesty also expressed his sincere gratitude to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for hosting the emergency summit and for his warm hospitality. He further welcomed His Excellency Ahmad Shar’a, President of the Syrian Arab Republic, and His Excellency General Joseph Aoun, President of the Republic of Lebanon, wishing them success in their efforts to advance the prosperity of their respective nations.
Reaffirming Bahrain’s stance from the recent Bahrain Summit, His Majesty emphasized the importance of adhering to the path of a comprehensive and lasting peace as the only viable framework for ensuring the Palestinian people's legitimate historical rights, including self-determination and the establishment of an independent state based on the two-state solution. He reiterated support for the Arab Peace Initiative and all relevant international resolutions while rejecting any attempts at forced displacement or settlement expansion.
King Hamad also praised Egypt’s initiative regarding the Gaza Strip, urging collective Arab support for the plan. He highlighted the significance of strengthening brotherly ties, safeguarding regional security, and enhancing collective capabilities to address shared challenges, all while preserving developmental achievements and progress across the Arab world.
The summit discussions centered on finding solutions to the ongoing crisis in Palestine, reinforcing Arab unity, and ensuring that decisions taken serve the interests of the Palestinian people and the region as a whole.
