Bahrain's participation is within the Kingdom’s pavilion, which includes 14 national tourism companies and hospitality institutions. The goal is to highlight Bahrain's diverse tourism offerings and promote major events hosted by the Kingdom, such as the Bahrain Grand Prix Formula 1. The participation also aims to strengthen cooperation with international tourism markets and attract more tourists by showcasing Bahrain's modern infrastructure, positioning it as an ideal destination for tourism and investment.
In this context, Ms. Dana Osama Al-Saad, Deputy CEO for Resources and Projects at the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, emphasized that the Kingdom’s participation in this international exhibition is part of the Authority’s strategy to enhance Bahrain’s presence in global tourism markets. She pointed out that Germany is one of the key target markets within the 2022-2026 Tourism Strategy.
She stated, "ITB Berlin is an important platform for exchanging expertise, building strategic partnerships with global companies, and introducing the unique tourism experiences Bahrain offers, which meet the expectations of international tourists seeking a rich and diverse travel experience."
She added that the fair also provides an opportunity to explore the latest trends in the travel and tourism sector, particularly in light of the rapid digital transformations taking place in the industry. She noted that Bahrain is keen to adopt best global practices to enhance its tourism appeal.
Ms. Al-Saad also confirmed that the Authority is eager to leverage this global event to highlight investment opportunities in the Bahraini tourism sector, supporting the Kingdom’s efforts to diversify income sources and boost tourism’s contribution to the national economy.
