King’s Cup Horse Racing Festival Concludes with Spectacular Wins in Bahrain

Under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the much-anticipated King’s Cup Horse Racing Festival commenced with an electrifying first day of competition at the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club in Riffa. The event, attended by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, brought together royalty, prominent figures, sponsors, and enthusiastic spectators for a two-day equestrian spectacle infused with the spirit of Ramadan.
The festival featured eight competitive races, showcasing elite horses from Bahrain and abroad, all competing for prestigious trophies. The evening’s events blended top-tier horse racing with a festive Ramadan atmosphere, captivating audiences with thrilling performances.
Spectacular Races and Notable Victories
🏆 Karushan M1080 of Al Mohamediya Stables secured a surprise victory in the opening race for Bahraini purebred horses over 1,000 meters, guided by apprentice jockey Hussein Asghar.
🏇 Soldier’s Empire of Al Mohamediya Stables clinched victory in the International Handicap Cup after a dramatic final 200-meter surge, overtaking British contender “Mr Alen” in an intense finish.
🐎 Wantrowina of Victorious Stables triumphed in the Coolmore Cup for imported horses over 1,600 meters, maintaining an impressive winning streak.
🎖️ Nation Wide of Victorious Stables stunned competitors in the Al-Fateh Cup (1,200 meters), while Son of Zeus of M&A Racing impressed in the Grand Seiko Cup.
🥇 The final race of the night, the Lexus Cup (1,800 meters), saw Bather of Al Mohamediya Stables secure his first open-race victory under the skilled guidance of jockey Hassan Al Saffar.
Celebrating Equestrian Heritage
The event highlighted Bahrain’s deep-rooted equestrian culture, with numerous awards presented throughout the night. His Highness Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa awarded the International Handicap Cup to His Highness Shaikh Sultan Al bin Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa.
Additionally, CEO Mark Thomas of Bapco Energies presented the Al-Fateh Cup, recognizing outstanding achievements in the sport.
The festival continues with more exhilarating races, reinforcing Bahrain’s position as a premier horse racing destination while celebrating the Kingdom’s rich equestrian traditions under royal patronage.
