HM King Hamad Hails Bahrain’s Historic Space Milestone

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, received His Highness Lieutenant General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor, Commander of the Royal Guard, and Secretary General of the Supreme Defense Council, at the Sakhir Palace.

During the meeting, HH Shaikh Nasser presented to HM the King the members of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Space Agency and the Agency’s space science team. The gathering followed the successful launch of Bahrain’s first satellite, "Al Munther," into orbit, marking a significant step in the Kingdom's space ambitions.

The satellite was launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, United States, aboard a Falcon 9 rocket. It is the first Bahraini satellite designed and developed entirely within the Kingdom, underscoring Bahrain’s commitment to localizing satellite technology and strengthening national capabilities in the field of space science. "Al Munther" carries four space payloads engineered by Bahraini space specialists, signifying the Kingdom’s entry into advanced space technology sectors.

HM King Hamad hailed the launch of "Al Munther" as a historic milestone in Bahrain’s journey towards enhancing its expertise in space sciences and technology. His Majesty emphasized that this achievement, realized through the dedication of outstanding young Bahraini professionals, cements the Kingdom’s status in the global space industry.
