HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman Attends Annual Horse Auction at Rashid Equestrian
His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Educational Charitable Trust, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tamkeen, and Chairman of the Supreme Council of Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club, attended the club’s annual public horse auction. The event, organized for the third consecutive year in collaboration with Mazad Company and Tattersalls United, was held in the club's exhibition arena.
The auction was attended by several members of the Supreme Council, club officials, horse owners, and equestrian enthusiasts.
Marking another milestone, this year’s auction continued its streak of success, solidifying its status as a key initiative that attracts widespread participation from stable owners and equestrian sports enthusiasts in Bahrain. The auction plays a vital role in supporting various stables and horse owners by providing them with opportunities to acquire new horses. This contributes to the diversity of the horses in competition, encourages participation in races, and motivates new owners to enter and support the sector.
The auction took place in a festive Ramadan evening setting, featuring state-of-the-art auctioning methods and modern sales technologies that enhanced its success. The event attracted a significant number of horse owners and racing enthusiasts.
A total of 66 registered horses were presented for sale, spanning various classifications and stables. The auction witnessed enthusiastic participation, with many owners seizing the opportunity to purchase select horses after thorough inspection in the exhibition area, following established procedures.
This year’s sales saw a remarkable increase compared to the previous edition. A total of 49 horses were sold for an impressive total value of BHD 81,320, with the highest-selling horse fetching BHD 8,200.
Mr. Yousif Osama Buhijji, CEO of Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club, expressed his gratitude for the continuous support of HH Sheikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. He highlighted HH Sheikh Isa’s keen interest in attending and following the auction, which significantly contributed to the event’s outstanding success.
Buhijji underscored the importance of organizing horse auctions as part of the club’s development initiatives led by HH Sheikh Isa bin Salman. These efforts aim to enhance all aspects of horse racing in Bahrain. He also praised the continued collaboration with Mazad Company, which has been instrumental in the auction’s success for the third consecutive year.
Meanwhile, Mr. Talal Al Arifi, CEO of Mazad Company, expressed his delight at the exceptional success of the third edition of the auction. He noted the significant participation and engagement from horse owners and buyers, which resulted in impressive sales figures. Al Arifi emphasized Mazad Company’s commitment to continuing its fruitful cooperation with Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club to support HH Sheikh Isa bin Salman’s initiatives in advancing horse racing and elevating Bahrain’s presence in the international equestrian scene.
