Court rejects appeal of man caught with drugs in undergarment

A man found with drugs hidden in his underwear at the King Fahd Causeway has lost his final appeal against a threemonth prison sentence, with the Court of Cassation rejecting his claim that the pills were prescribed.
He argued that he was convicted of taking hashish and tramadol despite not being found in possession of either.
He also claimed that the tablets he did have were prescribed but failed to provide proof.
The court dismissed his defence, ruling that possession or control of a banned substance does not require it to be physically seized at the time.
Any reliable evidence confirming that an individual had control over a drug is sufficient. It upheld the lower court’s ruling.
