The event was graced by Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education; Sheikh Thamer Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah, Ambassador of Kuwait to Bahrain; Khalid Saleh Bu Anaq, Member of Parliament for the Fifth Constituency of Muharraq Governorate; Saleh Jasim Buhaza, Vice President of the Muharraq Municipal Council; alongside representatives from the Ministry of Education, the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, and the project's executive office.
Dr. Juma emphasized that the initiative aligns with the government's commitment, under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to improving education services across Bahrain. He highlighted ongoing efforts to construct new schools and expand existing facilities to enhance the quality of public education. The minister also acknowledged the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development for its pivotal role in executing the project.
The school is designed to meet modern educational standards, incorporating environmentally friendly and energy-efficient features. Covering an area of 14,500 square meters, the facility will consist of two academic buildings, an administrative building, and 44 classrooms capable of accommodating 1,540 students. Special provisions include two classrooms for students with special needs, two science labs, two computer labs, two art workshops, two design and technology workshops, a spacious sports hall, a knowledge resource center, a music room, staff offices, and 66 parking spaces.
This initiative is part of a broader national strategy to enhance Bahrain’s educational infrastructure. The plan includes constructing 18 new schools, adding 23 academic buildings to existing institutions, reopening historical public schools, and implementing a long-term maintenance program to ensure the sustainability of learning environments.
Khalid Saleh Bu Anaq praised the government's commitment to addressing the educational needs of citizens, particularly in rapidly growing areas like Galali. He expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Education for its dedication to expanding and modernizing the Kingdom’s academic infrastructure, stating that the new school would be a valuable asset for residents in Galali and neighboring communities.
