Arab Ambassadors in UK Host Minister Hamish Falconer for Ramadan Iftar

The Council of Arab Ambassadors in the United Kingdom, led by Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Dean of the Arab Diplomatic Corps and Bahrain’s Ambassador to the UK, hosted Hamish Falconer, Minister for the Middle East and North Africa at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, for an iftar gathering in observance of the holy month of Ramadan.
The event provided a platform for in-depth discussions on recent regional and international developments, fostering dialogue and strengthening diplomatic ties.
Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed underscored the deep-rooted historical relations between Arab states and the UK. He, along with fellow ambassadors, expressed their commitment to enhancing cooperation in multiple areas of mutual interest.
Minister Falconer conveyed his gratitude for the invitation and extended warm Ramadan greetings to the attendees. He acknowledged the importance of such gatherings in fostering dialogue and reiterated the UK’s interest in furthering its collaboration with Arab nations.
During the discussions, the council praised the outcomes of the Extraordinary Arab Summit (Palestine Summit), co-chaired by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the current President of the Arab Summit, and His Excellency Abdel Fattah El Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt. Particular appreciation was given to the adoption of a plan for the reconstruction of Gaza.
Minister Falconer reaffirmed the UK’s support for the Arab initiative aimed at rebuilding Gaza and lauded Arab efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.
Additionally, both sides exchanged views on pressing developments in the Syrian Arab Republic and the Lebanese Republic, emphasizing the need for sustained efforts to support peace and regional stability.
The meeting reaffirmed the strong diplomatic relations between the UK and Arab nations, highlighting the commitment of both parties to cooperation and constructive dialogue on key global and regional issues.
