The Minister of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture, H.E. Eng. Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, highlighted the significance of collaboration with the private sector to enhance municipal services across Bahrain’s governorates.

The minister’s remarks came during an inspection visit to the construction site of the Isa Town Commercial Center. He was accompanied by the Undersecretary for Municipal Affairs, Eng. Sheikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Southern Municipal Council, Mr. Abdullah Ibrahim Abdulatif, and several other officials from the ministry.

During the visit, Minister Al Mubarak reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to strengthening public-private partnerships in the establishment and management of service-oriented projects that meet the needs of residents. He underscored that these efforts align with the government’s program and the public-private partnership regulatory framework, which aims to efficiently implement and operate public projects while leveraging the expertise and capabilities of the private sector to deliver high-quality services. These initiatives, he noted, contribute to Bahrain’s economic growth.

The minister described the project as a valuable addition to the region, fulfilling essential needs by establishing a comprehensive commercial center with supporting facilities, including parking spaces. He further noted that the project was developed in coordination with the Southern Municipal Council, in line with municipal strategic plans. The center will feature designated spaces for the sale of fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, fish, and poultry, ensuring the availability of essential goods for the local community.

Mr. Ramez Mohammed Al Awadhi, Chairman of Ramez International Group, praised Bahrain’s government for its extensive support of the private sector and its efforts to foster a thriving economic and investment environment. He emphasized that such initiatives drive development in the service sector, benefiting both the nation and its citizens.

Similarly, Mr. Abdullah Abdulatif, Chairman of the Southern Municipal Council, highlighted that the project exemplifies the fruitful collaboration between the public and private sectors in optimizing municipal assets. He noted that the Ramez complex, located in the popular market area, will serve as a vital hub catering to the needs of Isa Town residents and neighboring areas, built to the highest construction standards.

Furthermore, Council Member Mubarak Faraj, representing the second district, praised the project as a valuable service enhancement for Isa Town and surrounding areas. He emphasized that it will stimulate commercial activity, positively impacting the local economy.

The Isa Town Commercial Center development is among the key municipal service projects, with a total investment of BHD 2.4 million. Under a usufruct agreement, Ramez Group is financing the construction and operation of the center on a 16,765-square-meter plot. The facility will include designated areas for fresh produce, meat, fish, and poultry sales, catering to local demand. Additionally, it will feature over 500 new parking spaces to accommodate market visitors.
