The Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture is committed to developing municipal services across the Kingdom of Bahrain in partnership with the private sector. This was emphasised by His Excellency Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, as he visited the construction site of the Isa Town commercial centre project.
The visit was attended by His Excellency Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary for Municipal Affairs and Agriculture, Abdullah Ibrahim Abdulatif, Head of the Southern Municipal Council, and other officials from the Ministry.
Al Mubarak highlighted the importance of public-private partnership in supporting service projects. He noted that such partnerships align with government priorities and the public-private partnership framework, which aim to enhance efficiency and draw on private sector expertise to deliver better services and support economic growth.
Facility
The Minister said that the project will provide essential goods and services through a fully equipped commercial centre. The facility will include supporting features such as parking.
It was launched in coordination with the Southern Municipal Council, reflecting efforts to implement municipal plans in line with local priorities. These include establishing designated spaces for selling fresh produce, meat, fish, and poultry.
Ramez Mohammed Al Awadhi, Chairman of Ramez Group, commended the support of the Government of Bahrain for the private sector and its role in fostering a competitive investment environment, especially in service-related projects that benefit citizens.
Success
The Chairman of the Southern Municipal Council said that the project reflects the success of public-private partnerships in maximising the use of municipal assets and addressing community needs. He noted that the new Ramez complex in the traditional market will serve a wide segment of residents in Isa Town and neighbouring areas.
Mubarak Faraj, Southern Municipal Council Member for the Second Constituency, said the project will contribute to revitalising commercial activity in the area.
