ICAI Bahrain Hosts Successful 5th Annual Women’s Conference on Empowerment and Equality

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) Bahrain successfully hosted its 5th Annual Women’s Conference on March 22, 2025, at the Jumeirah Gulf of Bahrain in Zallaq, with more than 150 attendees. The event, themed "A New Era of Women – Rights, Equality, and Empowerment," sparked dynamic discussions on the progress of women's rights, equality, and leadership. It emphasized collaborative approaches to advance gender equality in all spheres of life.

The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Rajiv Kumar Mishra, Charge d'Affaires at the Embassy of India in Bahrain, who added a distinguished presence to the proceedings.

Prominent speakers included Celina Jaitly, Indian actress, former Miss India, and Miss Universe runner-up, who led a session on "Women in Art." Jaitly provided a unique perspective on the pivotal role women play in creative fields. Smt. Anu Kumari, District Collector of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, delivered an empowering keynote address on "Women in Government," sharing her extensive experience in public administration and policymaking.

Dana Zubari, a renowned media personality, captivated the audience with her session on "Women in Media," recounting her inspiring journey from finance to media and entrepreneurship. Fatima Al Mansoori, an internationally certified yoga therapist, conducted a session on "Women in Wellness," offering valuable insights into holistic well-being and its significance for women.

A special panel discussion on "Women in the Workplace" was moderated by Raji Unnikrishnan, Senior Journalist. The panelists—Mahavir Kothari, Dr. Amena Malik, and Anu Seby—engaged in a lively exchange, discussing the evolving role of women in professional spaces and the path to overcoming challenges in the workplace.

The conference also featured an art exhibition, showcasing the work of talented artists including Monisha Anil Vyas, Prateestha Ullas, Sunila Ajumal, Sindhuja Galipalli, Sudeep Sudhir Deshpande, Uday Shangbag, Mohammed Taha, and Atamjeet Singh Bawa, celebrating the creativity and artistic contributions of women.

With a blend of keynote addresses, expert panels, and networking opportunities, the conference served as a catalyst for change, forging meaningful connections and advancing women's rights and opportunities in Bahrain and beyond.
