The Ministry of Industry and Commerce will participate in the Arab Day for Standardization, observed annually on March 25, to raise awareness about the importance of standardization in supporting economic and social development. This event also aims to recognize the contributions of regional and international organizations, as well as partners, in this field.

The Ministry’s Inspection and Measurement Department is focused on developing a set of standards that define a framework for sustainability and environmental conservation. These standards help institutions and individuals achieve desired goals by adopting effective management practices, optimizing resource usage, protecting the environment, and enhancing consumer health and safety.

The department is also working on advancing the national energy efficiency regulations, which support the National Energy Efficiency Plan. These regulations set requirements for the efficiency of various electrical products, including large and small air conditioners, lighting products, refrigerators and freezers, washing machines and dryers, and household water heaters.

This year, Arab Day for Standardization is being celebrated under the theme "Standardization: A Bridge to Arab Economic Integration," highlighting the role of standardization in achieving economic development and integration. It emphasizes the importance of setting standards that support individuals and institutions in adopting effective practices to reduce waste, optimize consumption, and protect the environment and consumer health.
