Cabinet Approves Bahrain’s Candidacy for Non-Permanent UN Security Council Seat

The Cabinet, chaired by His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, convened at Gudaibiya Palace on 24 March 2025, making significant decisions that reflect Bahrain’s ongoing commitment to national and international progress.
A key highlight of the meeting was the approval of a memorandum from the Minister of Foreign Affairs regarding Bahrain’s candidacy for non-permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council for the 2026–2027 term. The Cabinet’s decision underscores Bahrain’s active role in global diplomacy and its dedication to contributing to international peace and security.
The Cabinet also discussed Bahrain's general budget for the 2025–2026 fiscal year, as presented by the Ministerial Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs and Fiscal Balance. The draft budget, which will be referred to the Council of Representatives, reflects the Kingdom’s priorities in enhancing government services, accelerating housing projects, strengthening education, and fostering economic growth.
