Bahrain’s dedication to religious harmony praised

Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem and the whole Holy Land, praised Bahrain for its steadfast commitment to promoting dialogue among people of different backgrounds.
His visit to the kingdom, from March 20 to 23, 2025, underscored the nation’s dedication to interfaith harmony and peaceful coexistence. Upon his arrival at Bahrain International Airport on March 20, Cardinal Pizzaballa was warmly received by His Excellency Bishop Aldo Berardi, O.SS.T., the Apostolic Vicar of Northern Arabia.
Accompanied by members of the local clergy, a delegation of priests, and representatives from the King Hamad Global Center for Peaceful Coexistence, his welcome reflected Bahrain’s long-standing efforts to foster religious dialogue and unity.
The Cardinal’s first stop was the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manama, one of the oldest and most significant churches in the region. There, he engaged with parishioners, clergy, and community leaders, reaffirming the Church’s commitment to supporting the Catholic faithful in Bahrain.
