The Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) took part in a high-level humanitarian visit led by the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of South Sudan to the Gorom Refugee Camp in Juba. The initiative saw the participation of delegations from various countries and regional and international organizations, reaffirming solidarity with communities displaced due to conflicts, particularly Sudanese refugees.

The delegation was headed by H.E. Sheikh Shakhbout bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of State, while the RHF was represented by Mr. Hassan Abdulaziz Murad, Director of Information Technology, accompanied by senior officials from South Sudan. Also in attendance was H.E. Birtukan Ayano, Ethiopian State Minister for Foreign Affairs, alongside ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps in South Sudan.

Expressing his pride in RHF’s participation, Mr. Hassan Abdulaziz Murad emphasized Bahrain’s commitment to supporting international humanitarian efforts and fostering partnerships that serve those in need, ensuring them a dignified life.

During the visit, food and relief aid were distributed to the refugees, while officials closely assessed the daily challenges they face, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan. The visit coincided with Zayed Humanitarian Day, observed annually on the 19th of Ramadan, reflecting the UAE’s longstanding values of generosity and tolerance in humanitarian work.

This visit is part of a series of humanitarian initiatives aimed at strengthening regional and international cooperation, intensifying humanitarian responses, and developing sustainable solutions for refugees in the region.
