Bahraini Foreign Minister Engages in Strategic Talks at Heritage Foundation in Washington

Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, participated in a high-level discussion session organized by the Heritage Foundation at its headquarters in Washington. The session was also attended by Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Bahrain's Ambassador to the United States.
The discussions focused on the longstanding strategic partnership between Bahrain and the U.S., spanning economic, trade, defense, and development sectors. Both parties explored ways to enhance these relations further, aiming to expand cooperation to new levels that serve mutual interests and objectives.
The session also addressed critical issues concerning the Middle East, particularly the ongoing conflicts and their implications for regional stability and international peace and security. Participants exchanged perspectives on diplomatic and international efforts to de-escalate tensions, foster coexistence and tolerance, and promote lasting peace, stability, and prosperity across the region.
During the session, Dr. Al Zayani highlighted the key outcomes of the Arab Summit hosted by Bahrain in May 2024. He underscored the commitment of Arab leaders to achieving regional peace, stability, and economic cooperation. The minister also emphasized Bahrain’s support for providing essential health and education services to communities affected by conflicts.
Dr. Al Zayani reiterated the importance of unified international efforts to resolve conflicts in the Middle East, safeguarding global peace and stability while mitigating humanitarian crises. He reaffirmed that the Palestinian issue remains at the heart of regional conflicts and called for a just and lasting resolution through the establishment of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state coexisting peacefully alongside Israel.
Additionally, the minister advocated for an immediate end to the war in Gaza, urging all parties to commit to a ceasefire. He stressed the urgency of releasing hostages and detainees while ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of civilians.
The session served as a platform to reinforce the deep-rooted ties between Bahrain and the U.S. and reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to diplomatic initiatives aimed at fostering peace and security in the region and beyond.
