The Labour Fund (Tamkeen) announced the selection of seven promising Bahraini startups for the second cohort of the Riyada Business Accelerator Programme. Powered by Salica Investments, formerly known as Hambro Perks, the programme aims to support early-stage startups through providing hands-on product development support, team development strategies and connections with platforms that enable them to access talent, fundraising opportunities and business development guidance.
From over 100 applications, 24 startups were initially selected to participate in a competitive ramp up bootcamp designed to prepare the most promising startups for the final selection round and assess the founders’ business strategies and commitment to success. Seven standout startups were then selected to join the second cohort.
The latest cohort features a diverse lineup of startups showcasing Bahrain’s inclusive and thriving startup ecosystem. The selected startups, spanning industries such as InsurTech, FinTech, SportsTech, PropTech, HealthTech, AI & Business Automation, and FoodTech & E-Commerce, include:
• Soor, by Mahmood Dhaif and Zahra Ahmed: simplifies insurance by helping users find and purchase the best policy for their needs at the most competitive prices in Bahrain. The app allows users to compare insurance options, buy directly, and maximize their benefits.
• Twazn, by Hamad Alsayed: is a digital investment platform using AI to replicate wealth management expertise. It offers seamless transactions and personalized investment options. Designed for diverse market segments, it caters to varying risk appetite levels.

• TellSaleem, by Khalid Satter and Dr. Razan Aljabal: is a health platform that integrates telemedicine and medical tourism into a seamless solution. It enables patients to book appointments, consult specialists, and plan medical travel.

It reduces costs, saves time, and improves efficiency with features like real-time tracking, seamless payments, and optimized delivery routes.
The Riyada Business Accelerator Program facilitated the creation of 30 job opportunities through its first cohort of six participating startups, including founders, full-time employees, and fractional resources. Participants successfully raised over $526,000 in funding through investments, grants, and competitions, benefiting from the mentorship and guidance provided throughout the programme.
This program highlights Tamkeen and Salica Investments’ commitment to supporting Bahrain’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
