HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister chairs weekly cabinet meeting: 7 April 2025

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting today at Gudaibiya Palace.

The Cabinet reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to enhancing collaboration between the Executive and Legislative Authorities to advance the Kingdom’s comprehensive development goals, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The Cabinet noted the efforts of the government taskforce and the relevant committees at the Council of Representatives and the Shura Council, as well as members of the Executive and Legislative Authorities, during the discussions of the Kingdom’s general budget law for the 2025–2026 fiscal year.

On the occasion of World Health Day, the Cabinet praised the health awareness demonstrated by Bahraini citizens, which has contributed to the success of national health programmes. The Cabinet also celebrated the dedication of the Kingdom’s medical and health professionals in delivering exceptional healthcare and treatment services, which continue to be widely appreciated.

In light of the upcoming 2025 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), marking its 21st anniversary, the Cabinet reviewed preparations for this prestigious sporting event and welcomed participating teams, visitors, and fans. The Cabinet extended its best wishes to the organisers and participants for a successful event.

The Cabinet praised the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s efforts, led by King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and supported by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, in serving umrah pilgrims during the Holy Month of Ramadan. The Cabinet highlighted the high-quality services provided to ensure the safety and comfort of pilgrims.

The Cabinet affirmed the strategic role of the United States of America in safeguarding regional security, stability, and peace in the Arabian Gulf, as well as its role in preserving maritime navigation in the Gulf and the Red Sea. It highlighted the historic and multifaceted Bahrain–US relationship and reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening economic and trade ties to increase bilateral trade between Bahrain and the USA in line with their strategic partnership.

The Cabinet then discussed several memorandums during the meeting, approving the following:

1.⁠ ⁠A memorandum submitted by the Civil Service Council on the restructuring of several ministries and government agencies to improve performance and efficiency.

2.⁠ ⁠A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Financial and Economic Affairs regarding a draft law amending certain provisions of the Public Security Forces Law.

3.⁠ ⁠A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on a draft resolution regarding tax review requests and objections submitted in accordance with the provisions of the Decree-Law regulating tax on multinational projects.

4.⁠ ⁠A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs regarding a draft resolution amending the provisions related to registration and safety conditions, as well as procedures for obtaining navigation and pilot licenses for small vessels with a gross tonnage of less than 150 tons.

5.⁠ ⁠A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on the Amman-Berlin Declaration on Global Disability Inclusion (Global Disability Summit 2025).

6.⁠ ⁠A memorandum submitted by the Ministerial Committee for Legal and Legislative Affairs on the government’s response to five proposals submitted by the Council of Representatives.

The Cabinet reviewed a memorandum from the Minister of Youth Affairs on the Ministry’s latest developments within the 2023–2026 Government Programme. It also noted a ministerial report from the Minister of Social Development on the outcomes of the Kingdom’s participation in the Global Disability Summit 2025.
