Two young Bahrainis, one of them a father, died when their car overturned in high winds on the Riyadh–Dammam highway as they made their way back to Bahrain.

The crash took place in Saudi Arabia on Sunday evening.

The vehicle lost control and overturned, according to early reports.

Strong winds are thought to have contributed to the accident.

Emergency crews arrived quickly, but both men died at the scene from their injuries.

Victims

The victims were named as Mohammed Marzooq, 24, and Mohammed Al Oudi, 25. The latter leaves behind a one-yearold son.

Burial is expected today once formalities are completed.

News of their deaths and images from the scene have spread across social media, where users expressed sorrow and offered prayers.

The Riyadh–Dammam highway is a major route often crowded during weekends and holidays.

Drivers have been urged to take care, especially during spells of strong wind and poor visibility
